On 16th August 1984 I received an urgent telephone call from Camellia Grove Nursery informing me that the extremely rare yellow camellia from China was flowering for the first time, in the Western World. Such excitement! I rushed over and photographed the beautiful bloom, a memory that remains with me to this day.
