Bacterial Leaf Spot
Bacterial/Fungal Leaf Spot on Spinach

What does it look like?
Brown/black spots on leaves which become sunken in. These spots usually spread quite quickly and are most common when conditions are wet and humid.

What does it do?
Can be caused by a fungi or bacteria which feeds on the foliage developing into ugly rotten spots. This causes the leaves to become unusable and can weaken the plant.

Can we live with it?
Not really, if you want your spinach plants to be productive this disease should not be tolerated. If left untreated the infection will undoubtedly spread.

Control
Your best defence is Eco-Fungicide or Eco-Rose, remove the worst leaves and then spray weekly until healthy. Spray healthy plants every 2 weeks as a preventative in wet or humid weather.
