Spray pruned roses and deciduous fruit trees with Lime Sulfur to disinfect trees against fungal spores and insect eggs, reducing problems in spring and summer. Lime sulfur can be used on stone fruit, apples, pears, grape vines, citrus, roses and other ornamentals. It controls various pests and diseases including mites, scales, powdery mildew, leaf curl and rust. Be careful spraying in hot days as plants may be damaged if temperatures exceed 32 degrees, the same goes for freezing temperatures. Also avoid spraying when soil is dry or if plants are suffering from moisture stress.
Lime Sulfur is considered the safest, least toxic and most effective control for Peach Leaf Curl, Peach Rust, Black Spot and Powdery Mildew. Start late winter as a preventative control, do not spray the leaves just the stems and branches. If any spray does get onto the foliage of other plants quickly wash it off with water.
