Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia myrtifolia)
This versatile plant is grown for its outstanding creamy-white flower display in summer. The dark green leaves are often red when young and emit a brilliant, citrus aroma. A slow growing, attractive tree or bushy shrub, which can be clipped to form a neat hedge.

Requires a moist, well draining soil rich in organic matter.

Prefers a sunny protected location but protect from frosts when young. Mulch regularly and deep water in dry seasons.

Plant as a tall thick hedge, or as a singular specimen.

Foliage is lemon-scented and particularly fragrant during rain.
