Lawns must not be watered at any time with drinking water *Warm Season Grass exemption From 1 September 2010 households and businesses can apply for a one-off, 28 day exemption from water restrictions to enable new warm season lawns to be established. Gardens can be watered with the following methods at any time: Trigger-nozzle fitted hose,Watering can,Bucket Manual watering systems (not hand watering), i.e. systems without timers, can be used within the following 3 rules: 1) Alternate watering days: Even and no-numbered houses can water on even dates of the month. Odd numbered houses can water on odd dates of the month.Everyone can water on the 31st within the specified times 2) Restricted hours - use a manual water system on your alternate day between: 6-8am ,8-10pm 3) Households with someone over the age of 70, may water at the alternate time of 8-10am (on your alternate watering day). Watering systems with automatic timers can be used on your alternate days (details below) from midnight to 4am. Alternate days: Even and no-numbered houses can water on even dates of the month Odd numbered houses can water on odd dates of the month Everyone can water on the 31st within the specified times At home, Cars may be washed at home with either a bucket or a high pressure, water saving device. To help save more water, Melburnians are asked to target 155 litres of water, per day.

Stage 2 water restrictions are now in place across metropolitan Melbourne and will remain in place until at least the end of Spring 2011. Lawns must not be watered at any time with drinking water Hand Watering Gardens can be watered with the following methods at any time: • Trigger-nozzle fitted hose • Watering can • Bucket. Commercial Cars may be washed using a water efficient commercial or mobile carwash.
