Sugar Cane hit hard by QLD floods
Farmers will have to leave 5.7 million tonnes uncut after heavy rains swamped cane fields.
Farmers expected to harvest around 2 Billion dollars worth, but its looking more like 1.5 Billion after this loss. This financial loss does not include the flood damage to hundreds of farms, this cost is yet to be determined.
Pineapples, grapes, citrus fruit, salad vegetables and melons will also be affected by the floods, so we can expect to see prices of these rising.
Bananas have come through the ordeal OK
