In the Vegie Patch - Week 6 2012
In the Vegie Patch

Unfortunately the rain has brought an early end to the harvest season of many veggies. This weak we are picking the last of our cucumbers, Zuchinnis and Squash. Powdery mildew has been an ongoing problem and has weakened a lot of the plants, reducing production. Instead of flogging a dead horse we decided to start fresh and replenish the soil in preparation for winter veggies.

We've also decided to leave one of our beds fallow this year and plant a green manure crop.

Despite the rain we managed to get a great harvest during the week.

Heirloom Tomatoes, Yellow Carrots, Cucumbers and Bullhorn Capsicum are on the menu this weekend!
