Get your lawn looking good for Christmas
As summer is upon us here are some things to do if your lawn is looking a bit tired coming up to Christmas.

If your lawn is compacted get busy with the garden fork. Do not just punch holes in the lawn, but instead work the fork from side to side to break-up the surrounding soil. A compacted soil stunts growth and limits the amount of moisture it can absorb.

If you have not fed your lawn as yet do so now with a slow release lawn food such as Munn’s Green-up that will supply a steady stream of nutrients to your lawn over the summer months without causing weaker surge growth that ends up being scalped off next time you mow.

Add a wetting agent such as Eco-Hydrate or Seasol Super Soil Wetter which will not only let water penetrate the surface, but also allow the soil to hold on to this vital water within its particles over the warmer months. If you have just fed your lawn water in the fertilizer with one of these products to take care of both jobs.

Take care of broadleaf weeds such as creeping oxalis and dandelion using a selective herbicide such as Bindii and Broadleaf Killer which is also safe for Buffalo lawns.
