Large clusters of deep blue flowers, make this a tough and hardy plant for a lovely deep blue accent in the summer garden. Grow it over a picket fence or plant a row for an informal hedge. The variety 'Royal Cape' is so much better than the species, which is pale blue. It won't fade in hot summer sunshine and will grow 2m and spread 2m.
Planting Advice: Plant into well conditioned soil with water crystals and controlled release fertiliser added. Water regularly until established in the garden (usually 6 weeks). Drought tolerant and frost hardy.
Position: Full sun (its REALLY drought tolerant and tough!)
Troubleshooting: Prune after flowering to control shape. Forgetting to prune may lead to an overgrown shrub. Otherwise pest and disease free!
