Description: 'Matapouri Bay' is a special selection of the Renga Renga lily from New Zealand. This pretty plant with blue/green leaves grows into dense clumps to 75cm high and spreads 60cm. Sprays of delicate white flowers in spring and summer are held above the foliage, reaching 1m height. This is a tough and attractive plant best used as a foliage contrast and mass planted.
Care: Tolerant of light frosts, coastal conditions and drought, this tough plant grows well in part sunshine or shade. Use snail bait to protect foliage when young. Feed in spring with controlled release fertiliser and mulch through summer to conserve soil moisture.
Uses: The Renga Renga lily makes a fine border plant and excellent when massed in shade under trees. We think this plant will rival Agapanthus for hardiness and floral display!
"Te Puna" is a new dwarf variety available in nurseries and grows to only 50cm.
