Autumn Crocus - Zephyranthes Zephyranthes go by many names 'Autumn Crocus', 'Rain Lily' or 'Storm Lily'. All these names are relevant as they flower in autumn and often appear as if by magic after late summer rains. The dainty lily flowers pop up through thin, strappy green foliage and come in colours such as yellow, pink and white.
Care Zephyranthes can be planted at basically any time of the year, they can even be made to bloom in at various stages through out the year by regular watering. Full sun is favoured but not cruicial, Zephyranthes will tolerate cool bit not frigid winters. Some species such as Z.candida (pictured) will multiply quite rapidly through bulb offsets.
Uses Stunning when planted en masse as a border/edging also great in rockeries.
