Banksia Rose

Banksia Rose (Rosa banksiae)

The Banksia Rose is a vigorous climbing rose, it is at its best when grown as a large shrub. It sends out spreading arching canes which are smothered in tiny and double buttery-yellow blooms in spring. There is only one spectacular burst of flowers which is in spring, pruning should be conducted as soon as flowering is finished.

When pruning, remove old productive canes from the base to encourage fresh new canes. Never prune back the end of the canes as it spoils the natural arching shape.

Avoid planting in restricted spaces, the Banksia Rose is perfect for hiding an ugly old garage or shed.
