Description: Mahonias are known for their dramatic foliage, wonderful golden yellow flowers and blue summer berries. Brilliant displays of long golden yellow flowers emerge in winter in upright sprays. The honeyeaters feast on their nectar. After the flowers the blue berries swell in October again providing food for birds. During late spring early summer after all the berries have been eaten, new growth is tender and copper red a big contrast to the green and spiky older growth.
