We love begonias! Sounds old fashioned we know - but they flower FOREVER - up to 9 months of the year. They are waterwise due to their succulent stems and only need watering twice a week in the heat of summer.
Begonia 'Bonfire' is one of our favourites due to the bright red colour but there are many colours available - just ask your local nursery.
Description: Begonia 'Bonfire' has a profusion of bright red-orange flowers covering up to half of the plant. Fabulous foliage has serrated edges highlighted by a red margin and a neat, bushy growth habit. Flowers from late spring to early autumn.
Planting: This low maintenance, easy care plant can be grown in full sun or part shade. Plants die back in winter, re-emerging to expand to former glories in spring. 'Bonfire' grows well in a large pot, half wine barrel or hanging basket. Repot late winter into fresh premium qualitypotting mix. Fabulous as a border plant or in a raised garden where the foliage will cascade and givea good effect. Feed with controlled release fertiliser in spring.
Climate: Protect from frost and excessive heat. Prefers rich soil with good drainage.
