A striking form of producing a dramatic floral display carried above a bold accent plant. The name is derived from the rush-like appearance formed by the clump of leafless stems. Ideal as a feature plant, suiting many styles of garden, or containers. Equally as effective mass planted. Flowers are orange and blue, identical to those of Strelitzia reginae; bird and butterfly attracting, long lasting cut flowers.
Size: Clumpforming habit, spreading to 1.5m wide with grey-green, leafless stems reaching 1.5m high.
Position: Tolerates a variety of conditions including drought and neglect once established, yet can also thrive in moist tropical gardens. Suited to full sun or part shade. Very low maintenance.
Use: Make a stunning centrepiece for a courtyard or balcony.
