Mother-in-Law’s Tongue
Sansevierias have upright leathery leaves and grow in the shady understorey of tropical forests. Some varieties have beautiful markings. Hahnii has transverse bands on the strong green leaves. Superb in sheltered places in hot climates, they will rot in cold wet conditions. In cool climates they grow well in glass conservatories and love central heating. They make fine decorator plants for stairwells and offices where they can be ignored for months with occasional watering and dusting.

Remove old dry leaves. Repot once the pot is full of roots, which are abundant and can be cut back severely at repotting to allow the plant to make more roots and shoots.

Look for Sansevieria 'Moonlight' a soft dove grey…stunning!
