Trailing pelargoniums make fine basket specimens with thick leaves and conspicuous flowers on long stalks. They come in singles and doubles in a wide range of colours. Some varieties have variegated foliage and compact or miniature form.
These plants are frost tender and will flower all spring and summer. Give then part shade and remove spent flower stalks. Plastic pots are better than terracotta as the roots get very hot. You may prefer to place the plastic pot inside a terracotta pot for extra insulation.
