Camellia 'Reflecting Wave, Ei Ha'

Camellia 'Reflecting Wave, Ei Ha'

This variety of Camellia from Bob Cherry at Paradise Plants has an interesting story behind it. It was named in memory of Mr. Norman Sparnon, who introduced the art of Ikebana (an elegant from of Japanese flower arrangement) to Australia 50 years ago. Normans peers considered erecting a statue in his honour but felt that this tribute was more appropriate.

Camellia JaponicaReflecting Wave, Ei Ha’ is named in memory of Norman Sparnon. ‘Ei Ha’ is the registered Japanese flower name received by Norman when awarded his practicing teachers diploma from Sogetsu School in Tokyo, Japan.

‘Reflecting Wave, Ei Ha’ is a hybrid camellia, which is slow growing, small compact shrub suitable for small gardens or courtyards. The small pale pink flower with long yellow stamens (which do not go brown) remains attached to the stem for a good duration of the arrangement, which is enjoyed for many days.

Availabilty is limted, but they will be available fro sale at the Paradise Plants open day this weekend.
