Garden Clinic - What To Plant - Foliage as well as Flowers

These are our favourite plants for foliage and flower!

Glorious Foliage Plants:: Heuchera (Cafe Club Mocha), with chocolate coloured wavy leaves, best in filtered sun or shade.

Brunnera 'Jack Frost' a shade loving ground cover plant with white splashes on green foliage and blue flowers in spring. Dahlia 'Mystic Sun' has bright yellow flowers in summer and excellent bronze foliage, grows about 1m.

Campanula 'Sarastro' with huge pendant blue bell-like flowers, long flowering and repeats.

Heliotrope 'Plum Pie' lovely clusters of fragrant violet flowers that prefers filtered sun.

Salvia 'Limelight' with lime foliage and dark purple flowers late summer. Salvia 'Blaze' with crimson pink flowers all spring and summer.

Tulbughia : grass-like edging plant, 'Wizard' is white flowered, 'Merlin' is mauve.

Philadelphus: white fragrant flowers with scent of orange blossom.

Viburnum opulus 'Aurea' white flattened 'hydrangea' type flowers and lime coloured foliage.

Seaside Daisy (Erigeron 'Spindrift'), tiny pink/cream daisies soften paving, steps.

Delphinium 'Blue Sensation' glorious deep blue flower spikes to 80cms, good in moist filtered shade, repeat flowers.

Duranta 'Geisha Girl' pretty blue flowers and lime foliage, may be grown in a basket or trained as a standard.

Convolvulus 'Blue Moon' tough, drought hardy with tiny round blue flowers, also 'Full Moon' larger.

Dietes 'White Tiger' handsome white striped foliage, good mass planted and for tubs. White iris flower spikes.

Crowea 'Porinda Ecstacy'1mx1m pink flowers part shade.

Fan Flower (Scaevola 'Purple Fanfare') improved hybrid with larger flws.

Christmas Bush 'Alberys Red' grows 3-5m x 2m.

Lomandra 'Little Con' 30cm green and 'Seascape' blue/grey.

Agonis 'Jedda's Dream' handsome dark burgundy foliage.

Acacia 'Green Mist' soft maple-like foliage to 0.5m
