In autumn this small, mallee (multi-branched) tree is a sight, with spectacular golden flowers exploding out of bright red buds. The tree will grow to 5m, and responds well to pruning to keep it in shape. Birds love it. Its origins in mid-coast Western Australia help it thrive in sandy coastal locations, though it will also survive light frost.
