Native Violets

Native violets make a dainty carpet under big trees. They provide a dense green covering of foliage decorated with starlike flowers of white and mauve, negating the need for mulch and preventing weeds from taking hold. Plant from punnets at 20cm intervals for a quick cover or buy larger pots and divide into 4 with a bread knife before planting.
