Question
I visited a garden in Leura recently and saw a plant with variegated grassy leaves and blue flowers. It was used an edging plant. Do you know what it might be?

Answer
We have this at home too and it is Liriope muscari ‘Variegata’, or variegated lily turf. It has strappy green leaves with a yellow striped margin growing to 30cm, and blue muscari-like flowers that stand above the foliage. It is an excellent edging plant in shade or full sun.
