Q:
I love my Buffalo lawn but every year it is filled with a short weed with small feathery flowers. I keep mowing it, even now in winter, but it keeps getting worse.

A: Winter grass (Poa annua) is acommon weed that infests all types of lawn from late autumn through to winter and spring. To safely control winter grass in a buffalo lawn, use Amgrow's Winter Grass Killer (active Endothal). You can also apply a pre-emergent herbicide, like Munns Professional Winter Grass Killer in early autumn, before the weeds appear. The active ingredient is Propyzamide, which acts as both a pre and post-emergent control. Start spraying the weed in late autumn as this weed can reseed 3-4 times before the end of winter, setting up the cycle for next year.
