QUESTION
What is disfiguring my gerberas?
ANSWER
The culprit is likely the gerbera leaf miner, which is difficult to control because the tiny caterpillar tunnels inside the leaf. I suggest applying Richgro Bug Killa Granules or David Grays Systemic Bug Killer around the base of the plant and watering it in. This will not repair the damaged leaves but it will stop the pest. Alternatively, you can remove most of the affected leaves and dispose of them, then apply a fertiliser to encourage new growth. However, I would still recommend applying the granules to protect the new growth.
