Payne’s thryptomene, Thryptomene saxicola

Description: this dainty native shrub flowers for a long season through late autumn and winter. Small pink flowers grow profusely along the spreading stems.

Size: 1m high x 1.5 m wide.

Cultivation: thryptomene is a tough plant, which thrives in most well-drained soils, and prefers full sun.

Special comments: this shrub can become quite straggly and woody, so cut plenty of flowering stems for the vase, and prune to shape after flowering.
