Potted: Sunflowers

Sunflowers are ideal for junior gardeners as they are quick to grow and flower and don’t require much in the way of space, fertiliser, or water. Heights vary between dwarf forms at 60cm high to gigantic forms over the 3m mark. Sow seeds into a pot 15cm apart and place the pot in full sun. Pick flowers for vases or allow them to be pollinated and produce sunflower seeds, which local birds will love.
