Stuffed figs with goat cheese and prosciutto
PREPARATION: 10 minutes, COOKING: 5 -7 minutes (if baking), SERVES: 4
INGREDIENTS:
-
8 fresh figs
-
100g goat cheese, chopped
-
4 slices prosciutto, torn into small pieces
-
2 Tbsp honey
-
¼ cup walnuts, roughly chopped
-
Fresh parsley or thyme for garnish
METHOD:
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) if you want warm figs, or keep them fresh for a cooler version.
-
Make deep cross-cuts on each fig, stopping just before the base so they stay intact. Gently open them up.
-
Fill each fig with chopped goat cheese and tuck in the prosciutto pieces.
-
Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with walnuts.
-
Serve fresh or bake for 5-7 minutes until warm and slightly softened.
-
Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.
