With verdant green dairy country on one side and pristine beaches on the other, the south coast of NSW is gorgeous country. Plan now to visit in spring, when open gardens add to the sights.

Berry Gardens
Eight private gardens will open this year for the Berry Garden Festival, October 8-11. The town is the perfect blend of village charm and city style. Stay
to soak it up – the $20 garden tickets can be used over all four days of the festival. Tickets on sale at Apex Park.

Bundanon
This is the home, studio and garden of artist Arthur Boyd, who captured the extraordinary qualities of the Shoalhaven landscape in his art. Always believing
that you ‘can’t own a landscape’, he donated the property to the Australian people. It’s open on Sundays, though private tours can also be arranged
through the week. www.bundanon.com.au.
All Saints Garden
Kelly Kershaw has created a wonderful series of gardens around the rectory, which was built in 1864 as part of the Bodalla Company estate. The property
offers bed and breakfast, and the gardens are open Friday-Sunday between spring and autumn. www.allsaintsbodalla.com.

Eating
The South Coast trail is all about simple local produce. These are our favourite spots to enjoy it:
Bistro One 46
Lunch under the grape-covered verandah in the heart of Kangaroo Valley village.
Cupitt’s Winery
Tucked behind Milton with lovely views over the rolling hills, Cupitt’s makes white wine but is best-loved for its restaurant, which uses local produce,
including what’s grown on the property.
Il Passaggio
Right on Fisherman’s Wharf at Bermagui, this restaurant serves up great views over the clinking boats in the harbour, as well as local produce.
