Clear the gutters
of debris and leaf litter. Shred them and place in compost or use them to create leaf mould. It's no fun, but can help keep to keep your home safer during the bushfire season.

Apply a soil wetting agent to pots and garden beds to help moisture better penerate the soil and into where it's needed most - the roots. Try Ezi-Wet or Wettasoil.

Harvest garlic when the leaves start to brown and die down. Lift bulbs and brush way excess dirt before hanging in a cool, airy spot to cure for 4-6 weeks. Once cured, it is ready for long-term storage.

To enjoy vegies all summer long, sow successive crops of Asian greens, lettuce, spinach, rocket, radish, and beetroot.

Bring colour to your garden beds by sowing zinnia, cosmos, agastache, rudbeckia and nasturtium. Prepare the soil before planting by digging in well-rotted manure and compost.

A pot of herbs is a fantastic gift for the gourmand in your life. Fill a 30cm container with premium potting mix and plant a mix of basil, chives, thyme, and oregano. Plant up now and it will be ready for Christmas.

Give your NSW Christmas bush a feed to help it look its best for the festive season.

Pick off or spray caterpillars with Dipel, an organic insecticide. It's safe for use around beneficial bugs too.

Divide and repot cymbidium orchids into fresh orchid bark. Help them settle in with an application of diluted seaweed.
